Kheerganga which lies at an altitude of 3050 meters at the end of Pin Parvati valley. Kheerganga offers you panoramic views of clear sky and vast greenery which will definitely delight your eyes. Kheerganga is a holy place with a hot water spring. It provides a beautiful circumstance when having a bath in a hot spring in the midst of snow which will make you feel relaxed. 

It is also known for a small temple of Lord Shiva which holds great spirituality and religious significance.It is also said that legendary Shiva has meditated here in the Holy Ganges flowing from the mighty Himalayas.

 Kheerganga is well known for the marijuana known as charas which is widely cultivated here. The trek gives you numerous opportunities to explore the unique culture of its region which has its rich history. As it gets its name from the word kheer, Shivaji and Parvathi when visited this place it appeared out of nowhere in Satyug. 

It makes the perfect trek to the Himalayas for children as well as beginners. Barshaini is the starting point for Kheerganga trek which is 17km away from Kasol. You will trek to Kalga village and you will be stunned to see its beauty with the serenity. It is one of the magnificent villages across Parvati valley which offers lush meadows, vibrant flowers and apple orchards. And as you trek further the path becomes slippery which makes it more thrilling when you pass through snow covered Himalayas. Kheerganga is certainly a miracle where you will find utmost eternity and the water near valleys is as white as milk that flows in its own gleaming.

Itinerary:

Day 01- Arrival in Kasol and overnight stay. You can explore the local places and flea market in Kasol. And at night you enjoy sitting near a bonfire with light music. 

Day 02- You wake up watching a beautiful sunrise at Kasol. You then head towards Barshaini through a taxi. After reaching you real trek begins at Kheerganga which will offer you some beautiful sights which will rejuvenate your mind. You witness Shiva temple, Rudra Nag waterfall and a lot more sights. You then relax near the mountains and stay overnight camping. 

Day 03- After breakfast you can have a hot spring which will definitely make you feel good and then you can trek back to Kasol with endless memories that you made. 

Best time to visit:

The ideal time to go for Kheerganga trek would be during May to November as the weather stays pleasant and cool. Winter months are the best to go for as the snow makes the trail hard to step but offers cool breeze.  

How to reach:

Kheerganga located over Kullu region can be reached either by air, by road or by train. Pantnagar airport which is 235 kms from Kheerganga is the nearest. From there you can take a taxi or a bus to Barshaini which is just 11 kms from Kheerganga. While the nearest railway station is Kathgodam Railhead which is 198 kms away. However if you want to travel by road the route is well connected to Barshaini. It covers approx 565 kms from Delhi to Kasol by road and is easily accessible.

You witness the sanctuary devoted to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and a hot spring which will give you revived vibes situated close to Manikaran.
